FEPS 2009 Travel Awards (Deadline May 29th, 2009 passed)  

Introduction

The organisers of FEPS 2009 are pleased to offer a limited number of travel awards in the typical amount of 200 EUR to support the participation of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The travel award does not include any other benefit to the awardees (e.g. accommodation, transportation or registration fee.)

The travel awards are based on the scientific merit of the abstract submitted, track record of applicant (publications, abstracts, prizes, other indicators of academic achievement), and the letter of recommendation.

Eligibility Requirements

The nominees must meet the following criteria:

• The nominee must be the presenting author of an abstract to be presented at the meeting.

• The abstract must be of the highest scientific merit.

• The nominee must be enrolled in a masters or doctoral degree, or must be a postdoctoral fellow at the time of application.

Required Materials

The application must contain the following items:

• A letter of application including affiliation, e-mail address and a statement of motivation

• A copy of the abstract electronically submitted for the conference

• A letter of recommendation from the advisor or the department head.

• A Curriculum Vitae from the nominee including the following information: education, honours/awards, list of representative publications (Curriculum Vitae may contain only highlights, 1-page maximum)

Deadlines

• Application deadline was May 29th, 2009.

• Successful applicants will be notified by e-mail by June 22nd, 2009.

Conditions of Award

• Awards will be given to recipients at the Meeting.

• To receive the award, the recipient must attend the Meeting.
